SUSANNA

Owner of Nu Image Salon & Day Spa

Susanna is a licensed massage therapist and has been a scholar and follower of alternative holistic approaches to self care, beauty and wellbeing for the past 16 years. Inspired by the power of the alternative healing systems, she studied Classical Homeopathy in New York and various systems of healing including Herbology and Ayurvedic Medicine in California.

To compliment her holistic education, Susanna studied Bodywork modalities and its therapeutic properties. Susanna’s passion is to share her philosophy with others in that fundamental principle of true healing and wellbeing consists of return to natural habits of living, free of biochemical harmful side effects, to obtain and maintain balance in the energies of the human body. So as Aveda’s earliest roots lie in Ayurveda, the India’s healing tradition based on the knowledge of life and the interconnectedness of all things, the effect of Aveda products considered not only on hair or skin, but on body mind and emotion.

Julie Sperry

Master Stylist

Originally from the famous sandy stretches of the Jersey Shore, Julie has been in the beauty industry for over 35 years, and has established herself as the premier stylist in the North Scottsdale area for over 25 of those years. Skilled as a full service cosmetologist, her true passion is Hair. Her love affair with hair started when she was 18 years old, and she has the same passion for hair today, that she had on her first day in a salon. Julie feels very fortunate to have a career that she loves and enjoys every day.

When it comes to cutting, styling and coloring hair, she is extremely skilled and is quite the artist, specializing in color blending or melting. Julie is also certified on all of the hair straightening systems, and on natural beaded rows Hair Extensions. With a wide range of specialties, Julie is dedicated when it comes to bringing her client’s vision to life, and her clients receive the finest in customer service from the beginning to end. Julie’s skills combined with her unique talent for communicating and pampering her clients, is why clients come back time and again.

When Julie is not in the salon, she still attends hair shows, her favorite shows are with Rachel Roche and Wendy Belanger. She feels “We are never too old to learn a little bit more in our industry” to create style and beauty. Julie loves hiking, jogging, yoga, was involved in cross country in school, setting the record with the JC’s for the mile. Julie also loves to spend time with her 4 children, two of which live in Canada Vancouver, Calgary, and she has two grandchildren.

Julie genuinely loves to make people feel good, and would love the opportunity to meet you, share her approach to healthy, gorgeous hair, help you create your personalized style and look beautiful.

Jamie

Master Stylist

Jamie is our adventurous master stylist from the great state of Oregon and has been a professional since 2008. She moved to Payson, Arizona in 2007 and worked at the Paul Mitchell Salons for two years prior to joining Nu Image Salon & Day Spa here in Scottsdale, AZ over six years ago.

Jamie and her husband Benji have two great kids, Logan & Charlea. Jamie loves nature, ALL animals and the Aveda healthy holistic approach to beautiful hair as its products are 97% botanically based, promote well-being and are always gentle for the client’s hair. She enjoys utilizing Aveda’s impressive array of creative color lines and has a particular talent for the “Reds”.

Jamie is also excellent with structured men’s cuts/grey blending; our “non-formaldehyde based” keratin straightening product “Cezanne”; highlighting / longer cuts & styles and children’s cuts. She can also treat her clients to Aveda’s aromatic facials & various waxing treatments.

Bob Giacolone

Master Stylist

Bob Giacolone he is an Award-Winning specialist in hair color and hair cutting. He is nationally recognized as one of the best colors and haircut makeover artists in America. Bob is a past winner of the Armstrong McCall “60 Years of Beauty” contest and has performed his artistry at the World’s Fair of Cosmetic Arts and Sciences. Bob is also a past winner of the Goldwell “Own the Cover” contest, and was the only Arizona stylist recognized in their top 100 stylist book. Bob is an expert at designing a look just for you. Weddings and formal hair expert! Don’t let your most visible accessory go unnoticed. Bob’s creativity and style are unsurpassed in grace and class. In his 40+ years in the industry, Bob has worked and trained with the leaders in the Business. When not in the Salon, Bob can be found riding his horse in the desert!

David Borden

Master Stylist

David comes to our team with a wide range of experience and over 35 years in the business. David worked at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis as an instructor teaching students in all aspects of hairstyling including: Haircutting, Hair Coloring, Perms, Relaxers, Finger waves, Pin curls, Roller sets, Round-Brush Styling and Advanced Color Techniques. David also worked for an International Hair color company, traveling extensively around the US teaching In-Salon / Hands-On color classes and participating in fashion shows introducing the latest trend releases.

While living in Asia, David worked with a Sassoon educated British Hairstylist, who owned a salon in Taipei, Taiwan and a school in Hong Kong. He worked there for five years working between the school and Salon which catered to both the Chinese and the ex-patriot population. There he really developed his skills in precision cutting and geometric shapes.

David’s favorite aspect of hairdressing is creating new and exciting looks that fit the client’s personality and lifestyle. This often involves using dimensional color and customized haircuts that create volume, shine, texture and softness. David is equally skilled at creating natural looks as well as the more Avant Gard effects. It just depends on what the client wants to project to the world. Rinad

Master Stylist

Rinad is a master hair stylist with 25 years of experience working in Phoenix, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. She has mastered the art of coloring, cutting and truly is an amazing, talented HAIR EXTENSION STYLIST. Rinad starts off with a thorough consultation using the industry very best product, combined with the best technique.
The work she does is truly incredible, gentle, beautiful, and healthy for the hair. Her personality is equally beautiful as her work! Rinad is friendly, a good listener, communicator and the type of care she has for each individual client is very warming and genuine.
